Sea Marconi recently carried out an expertise activity for Hong Kong's most important utility. The service involved an analysis and diagnosis campaign on a large fleet of transformers and shunt reactors, for the purpose of verifying the presence of corrosive sulphur by DBDS (C1).
The results of this activity allowed us to model operating conditions of the cutomer's machines and subsequently propose the only truly efficient and long-lasting solution for equipment contaminated by DBDS (dibenzyl disulfide): selective depolarisation (also possible on-load) by DBDS. This task, given the potential risk of criticality C1, is to be considered a strategic activity of damage prevention and environmental protection in an energy-hungry context such as that of Hong Kong.
