Engineering diagnostics and integrated treatments .

After interest shown by one of Asia's main energy producers in learning more about certain critical issues with transformers, and after an initial diagnostic testing (with oil analysis) on some processors, Sea Marconi received an invitation from Hong Kong to present its solutions for the life cycle management of electrical equipment in an oil bath (Smart MCL) aimed at preventing breakdowns and promoting environmental protection.

During the meeting, participants expressed concrete appreciation of Sea Marconi's proposals for damage prevention and environmental protection, which led to the drafting of a first project agreement. We cannot disclose details of the agreement, but we can say that a pilot project for diagnostic engineering and integrated treatment of a significant number of strategic transformers in Hong Kong will be implemented shortly.

Sea Marconi uses the best available techniques(BAT / BEP), which not only reflect regulatory state of the art, but are often ahead of it by offering punctual solutions before they can be included in slow regulatory procedures.

Sea Marconi is used to this kind of assessment, which we welcome as a challenge and motivational stimulus to always do better. Speaking of challenges, I would like to recall one launched recently from Japan: reaching 0.5 mg/kg as the limit for dehalogenation of PCBs. Initially that value did not even appear measurable, then, thanks to the efforts of Sea Marconi research, that threshold was measured, and then was surprisingly achieved after treatment of PCB dehalogenation (CDP Process®).

Hong Kong is a region with 7 million inhabitants and is one of the most densely populated areas in the world; in fact, Hong Kong is the most vertical city that exists. Its inhabitants have a per capita income which is one of the highest in the world and, and continuing with its records, Hong Kong has the highest percentage (over 90%) of public transport use in the world.
