The first relations between Sea Marconi and Vietnam date back to 2003 when a technological cooperation agreement on "Clean Technologies" was signed between the European Commission and the Asian area.
Twelve years later, on 11 and 12 May 2015, we were pleased to host a delegation from EVN*, Vietnam's national electricity company. Their objective was to select the best technology available for the decontamination of oils and transformers contaminated by PCBs in the context of a broader UNIDO project. Sea Marconi has already responded to these types of requests (e.g. Macedonia project) and welcomes them into its production process as a core business activity.

On the first day, the two companies were introduced along with a detailed presentation of Sea Marconi's oil analysis methodology, the diagnosis of critical issues related to electrical equipment (functional and environmental) and on-site decontamination of transformers with PCBs. During the second day, the delegation was accompanied on a visit to the IREN power station in north Turin, and when it returned to Sea Marconi, it was able to go into more detail on our laboratory analysis and the department for oil treatment systems, designed and produced in-house.
As sector experts, the Vietnamese guests appreciated the Sea Marconi approach focused on protection of assets and the environment and the possibility of creating integrated treatments capable of using just a single treatment to "sanitise" the transformer by eliminating multiple critical oil problems, either chemical or physical, such as water, gas, PCBs and DBDS.
The meeting ended with an invitation to Sea Marconi to address the issues of the battle against PCBs in Hanoi in July 2015.

* Vietnam Electricity (EVN) is the largest electricty company in Vietnam with an installed electricity generation capacity of 8,860 MW and a distribution network of 19,396 km. According to the 2007 UNDP report, EVN was the third largest company in the country.
